3D Commercial was launched in 2019 by Paul Conway, after several years working as a specialist recruiter in the construction market.
In addition to his dedication, commitment, and genuine care, one of the things that sets Paul apart is his knowledge of the industry, having worked in construction himself. After relocating to Victoria, Paul worked on several pivotal projects, including the installation of Concrete Post-Tensioning, which gave him a firsthand understanding of construction projects, meaning he can engage in in depth technical discussions related to the roles he is recruiting for.
In 2016, Paul combined his people skills, technical knowledge, and existing network in the construction industry to embark on a career in recruitment. His swift rise to success, earned him a reputation for identifying top-tier professionals for leading construction companies. Despite being successful at what he did, Paul could always see the potential to ‘recruit a better way’. In 2019, he founded 3D Commercial as an innovative and forward-thinking recruitment company.
Despite being a boutique agency, 3D Commercial has grown to become a major player in the Melbourne construction recruitment market, successfully helping over 1000 candidates secure new roles. Among 3D's notable achievements to date are winning both the 'Best Agency – Construction Vic' (3D Commercial) and 'Best Recruiter – Construction, Vic' (Paul Conway) at the 2022 Sourcr Awards, along with being nominated as a top 5 finalist in the 2023 SEEK SARA Awards for 'Recruitment Leader of the Year' (Paul Conway).
“…My passion for recruitment was by no means love at first ‘site’. The ignition was sparked in 2015 when I found myself working on a St Kilda Road construction site in an EWP, with winter fast approaching. I was cold, unhappy in my role and I wanted to pursue a career where I could develop other skills.
Having enjoyed my time in construction, I decided to stay involved in any way I could. And so, I joined an international recruitment firm and benefitted from one of the best training programs in the recruitment industry.
From there, I furthered my success within a boutique agency, where the flame grew bigger and 3D Commercial’s inception was born. I pride myself on delivering what I say I’ll deliver, and never falling short of expectation.
My goal is to partner with the best organisations and professionals in the construction industry, whilst still gaining a sense of pride, knowing that I helped shape some of Victoria’s ever-changing skyline, however indirect it may be…”
