A leading player in the commercial and industrial construction sector is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head of OHS & HSEQ Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety and quality-driven professional to join a growth-oriented company, where the focus is on delivering large-scale projects across a range of industries. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to enhance their Occupational Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental governance across the business and multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain all OHS documentation across the company and its entities
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments and enforce preventative measures to manage safety and mitigate risks
  • Oversee incident management and ensure all incidents are reported and managed in a timely and compliant manner
  • Assist HR with the coordination and execution of OHS training for employees and executives
  • Lead Return to Work initiatives and manage workers' compensation claims
  • Liaise with governing authorities to ensure compliance with relevant OHS legislation
  • Arrange and conduct site audits focusing on safety, quality, and environmental requirements
  • Manage and maintain HSEQ data systems, including training, incident management, non-conformance reports, and risk registers
  • Support site Safety Officers with documentation and safety requirements as needed
  • Provide managerial leadership to the company’s IMS Workgroup, ensuring alignment with company standards
  • Participate in and prepare for internal system audits, including ISO 9001 and AS/NZS 4801
  • Lead and manage ISO Accreditation audits, ensuring ongoing compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on safety and quality initiatives
YOU:
  • MUST HAVE proven experience in commercial and industrial construction, with a strong understanding of safety, quality, and environmental management
  • Experience in a senior leadership safety role, withinn construction in Australia (Melbourne ideally)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OHS/WHS legislative frameworks, including relevant Acts, regulations, and risk management principles
  • Solid understanding of ISO 9001 and AS/NZS 4801 standards
  • Experience in preparing and managing high-quality internal and external documentation
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio), with the ability to quickly adapt to industry-specific software
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across various stakeholders
